The founder story
Built from a real selector’s problem
Shaun O’Loughlin tried the same workarounds many selectors know: paper notes, spreadsheets and even a miniature magnetic board.
The useful part was always the same: see every player, move the magnets and keep the selection conversation visible. BowlsSelect grew from making that familiar process available wherever the committee works.
Victoria Bowling Club in Ballarat is BowlsSelect’s primary proving ground. Real selection nights and administration problems help expose what works and what does not.

The questions clubs tend to ask
Does BowlsSelect select the team automatically?
No. BowlsSelect supports selectors with a visual board, useful evidence, warnings and optional starting suggestions. The committee remains responsible for the final selection.
What is the difference between My Board and Shared Master?
My Board is a selector’s private working selection. Shared Master is the official competition board used for the club’s agreed selection.
Does BowlsSelect work on phones and tablets?
Yes. BowlsSelect treats touch interaction as a first-class workflow as well as desktop mouse use.
Does BowlsSelect replace BowlsLink?
No. BowlsSelect works alongside BowlsLink and focuses on the club’s selection and administration workflows.
Can BowlsSelect submit teams directly to BowlsLink?
Direct BowlsLink team submission is not currently presented as a verified live capability.
How much will BowlsSelect cost?
Commercial pricing is still being finalised. Clubs can register interest for trial and launch information.
